Several fronts will leave abundant rains, storms and snow in these areas of Spain

The succession of several Atlantic fronts this week will leave unstable weather in Spain, with rains especially in the northwest of the peninsula and the Cantabrian Sea, that could affect almost the entire peninsular territory on Wednesday, although they are not expected to reach the eastern facade and the Balearic Islands, according to the prediction of the AEMET spokesperson, Luis Bañón. Even so, Temperatures will rise in almost the entire country until Friday.

Bañón has warned that this Tuesday an Atlantic storm will approach the northwest of the peninsula, which will cause abundant cloudiness in the northwest half and extreme north, with Precipitation that could be persistent in the west of Galicia and more intermittent in the Pyrenees, the Cantabrian coast and, in the form of snow in mountainous areas of the extreme north. Likewise, there will be low clouds on the southern plateau, which in some areas will be fog banks, while in the rest of Spain, there will be some cloudy interval. Regarding temperatures, they will rise in the northwest and fall in the eastern half, and the wind will continue to blow with strong intervals in Galicia, the Cantabrian area, northern Iberia and, in the early hours, in Ampurdán and Bajo Ebro.

On Wednesday, Bañón points out that the arrival to the west of the peninsula of a cold front associated with the Atlantic storm that will leave cloudy skies with precipitation in most of the territorywhich will be more abundant in the northwest quadrant and may become persistent in the west of the central system and especially in Galicia. On the eastern side of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, it is unlikely that rain will arrives. However, snow is expected in the Pyrenees, without ruling out other mountains in the northern half. Temperatures will rise in much of the country and winds from the south will blow in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with strong intervals in the northwest, extreme north and mountains in the east.

During the Thursday, the situation of instability in the extreme north of the peninsula will persist. The AEMET spokesperson has announced that there will be abundant and intense rainfall in Galicia, the Cantabrian area and the Pyrenees, where it will snow. In the rest, the situation will tend to be anticyclonic, although the skies will still be cloudy with possible weak rainfall, which will be more likely in mountain areas and around the Strait. As for temperatures, they will continue to rise in much of the country and the winds will blow from the west with strong intervals in areas of the coast and interior of the north and east of the peninsula, against the mountains in Ampurdán, affecting the north of the Balearic Islands.

Already on Friday, Bañón has predicted the passage of a new Atlantic front that will leave unstable weather in the northwest of the peninsula, with abundant cloudiness and precipitation in Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea.. These could reach other points in the northwest and the Pyrenees, where they would be in the form of snow. In the rest of the country, more stable weather will prevail and some low cloud cover is not ruled out. During this day, no major temperature changes are expected and the winds will blow strongly in Ampurdán and the north of the Balearic Islands, as well as in the northwest of the peninsula, the Pyrenees and Bajo Ebro.
