The non -profit entity San Juan Bay Estuary He invited citizens on Tuesday to participate in the Estario Weekwhich is celebrated nationally from September 20 to 27 and that, in Puerto Rico, will include a diverse educational program.
Brenda Torres BarretoExecutive Director of Estario, reported that, this year, the celebration leads by slogan “flows with the estuary”, and the agenda of activities begins with a Cleaning of coastsas part of an educational fair, on September 20.
The activities culminate on September 27 with the event “Explore the estuary”, to raise awareness in different environments and social networks, he added.
“Estario leads projects – along with eight municipalities, government agencies responsible for natural and gray infrastructure and communities in the Metropolitan Region of San Juan – for the restoration of lagoons, channels, bays and marshes that make up the system of the San Juan Bay estuary. It is of interest to all citizens to achieve their conservation”Said Torres Barreto, in a press release.
“Considering that citizen participation is vital in this work, We want our collaborators in municipalities, schools and agencies to wear the official yellow shirt of the estuaries on Friday, September 26”He added.
Torres Barreto thanked the governor Jenniffer González for proclaiming the National Week of estuaries in Puerto Rico officially.
