Representatives of the Commonwealth of Soto de Viñuelas, the area of three songs most affected by the fire recorded on August 11, together with entrepreneurs of the municipality and environmental defense organizations have met this week to analyze the impact of the catastrophe in an area that they themselves define as the ‘lung of Madrid’ and the reaction of the public administrations.
The requests and claims of the neighbors have also been collected before the plenary session of the City Council of Tres Cantos. And it is “we feel abandoned,” says the collective, which requires public administrations that, in addition to implementing prevention plans to prevent this tragedy from happening again, to explain what the causes of these fires that took place in August both in three songs, Soto de Viñuelas or in Colmenar Viejo have been.
The neighbors have also transferred their concern about the disorderly urban growth of three songs, one of the municipalities of the country that has grown the most in recent years with more than 50,000 inhabitants today.
“Practice all the fires have their origin precisely in the phase that hosts this extension, located in the north of the municipality, in the confluence with that of Colmenar Viejo,” they have commented to the media.
The Municipality of Tres Cantos is located between two areas of high ecological value: El Monte del Pardo and the farm of Soto de Viñuelas. “Your fire protection should be a priority for local and regional administrations to prevent the environmental catastrophe is repeated.”
