The Moeve Foundation continues with its purpose of being an agent of change in the process towards a fair ecological transition and in its commitment to social welfare, biodiversity and social innovation.
The balance of its activities in 2024 covers 117 projects in Spain and Portugal, with 146,703 direct beneficiaries (21% more than in 2023) and 440.027 indirectly; 104 Social entities and administrations have collaborated in the projects, in which 1,284 volunteers have participated. And almost 5.2 million euros have been allocated, 20% more than in 2023, to provide projects, carried out in the areas where Moeve has its activity, especially in Andalusia and the Canary Islands.
Teresa Mañueco, director of Moeve Foundation, stressed that «the year 2024 has been of great challenges in our projects and the exercise in which we have presented our new identity and strategy to promote a fair ecological transition. In the Foundation we also transform ourselves to work on our commitment to the well -being of society and the planet ».
People, Biodiversity and Social Innovation
On the environmental plane, the conservation of ecosystems and the sustainable water management have had special prominence, with the restoration and conservation of high -ecological value wetlands such as the First Palos Lagoon (Huelva) and the Environmental Station of Madrevieja (Campo de Gibraltar).
In social innovation, the entity launched the first edition of the Future For All Awards to recognize projects that help the fair ecological transition. This first edition opted 143 candidates for entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses from 31 Spanish provinces.
Also in the area of social innovation, the Moeve Foundation has joined the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, of the City Council of the capital of Tenerife, to design a city model capable of improving its competitive advantages, which achieves cohesion and social balance, and committed to innovation, the improvement of employment and culture opportunities.
Likewise, the Foundation has deepened its strategic alliances with entities dedicated to the attention to vulnerable groups. Also for the donation of one million euros and a volunteer plan aimed at local employees who have collaborated in the cleaning and distribution tasks of those affected by the DANA.
