The brilliant green light of a meteor that exploded at the entrance to the earth, illuminated the sky in Puerto Rico at about 12:54 am on Monday, in a show that could be divided around the island.
The vice president of the Caribbean Astronomy Society (SAC), Eddie Irizarrycommented to The new day that it can be presumed that The space rock had metallic content due to the green color that could be appreciated in the sky.
“It was a meteor that was quite brilliant, the glow was quite noticeable … we confirmed that it was visible to the entire island”Irizarry reported, who knew about people who spotted the phenomenon in Cabo Rojo, AƱasco and Guayama.

According to Irizarry, this rock came in the direction opposed to the sun, so it is known as a “Meteoro Antihelio”.
“It was determined that it came from Virgo’s constellation … it is the one that is located to the opposite area where the sun is”said the expert.
Irizarry also pointed out that these heavenly bodies are influenced by the gravitational force of the planet Jupiter.
“Jupiter is a planet that has so much gravitational force that it alters the orbit of asteroids and other fragments that are orbiting”he said.

The Vice President of SAC urged Puerto Ricans to continue pending to heaven, as the organization has seen several brilliant objects in recent days, especially at night.
“When that happens, it is because, in the route that the earth is doing around the sun, we are going through some area where some fragments enter the atmosphere … it seems that this year there is a little more activity”he said.
