Meta creates an AI clone of Mark Zuckerberg to interact with employees

Mark ZuckerbergCEO of Goalcould have soon an AI clone that interacts with company employees instead. According to the Financial Times, which has spoken to four people familiar with the matter, Meta has been working on developing AI-powered photorealistic three-dimensional characterswith which users can interact in real time, and recently has prioritized a Zuckerberg AI character.

According to one of the sources, the head of Meta personally participate in training and tests of its animated AI, which will be able to offer conversation and feedback to employees. Add that the character is being trained on the billionaire’s gestures, tone and public statementsas well as his most recent reflections on the company’s strategies. The idea is that ’employees can feel more connected to the founder through their interactions with him’.

According to the outlet, Meta could allow creators to create AI avatars if the experiment with Zuckerberg is successful. However, Photorealistic recreation of virtual AI characters requires high computing power to achieve realism and avoid delays in user interactionsmaking it difficult to bring it to the consumer market.

This initiative, which is in an early phase, is independent of another Zuckerberg project, recently revealed by The Wall Street Journal, consisting of create an AI agent of yourself to help you complete tasks; for example, retrieving information quickly.

Over the past year, Meta has spent several billion dollars promising to develop a ‘personal superintelligence’ and catch up with rivals like OpenAI and Google in the development of advanced models.

Along these lines, Meta launched Muse Spark last Wednesday, a small, closed and ‘designed for a specific purpose’ for use in all your productswith advanced abilities in areas such as health reasoning and visual understanding. Wall Street welcomed the launch, with Meta shares rising 7 percent that day.

According to the Financial Times, Zuckerberg has become increasingly directly involved in Meta’s pivot to AI. One of the sources stated that spend between five and ten hours a week programming different AI projects in the company and participate in technical reviews.

This reorientation of Meta towards AI leaves its great project at the beginning of this decade, the Metaversewhich even caused the company to abandon the name of Facebook in 2021, a year before the launch of ChatGPT. Since then, Meta has taken steps to position itself as an AI company, as well as social media.
