Madrid in Game heads to New York after the success of its technological event in Miami

Madrid in Game is an initiative of the Madrid City Council, a little over a year old, that seeks boost the Spanish video game industry sector, generate employment and help internationalize it. The program continues to take steps forward in this last aspect with its presence in the eMerge Americas which took place this Thursday and this Friday in Miami.

It is a technology convention focused on innovation which brings together venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and technological innovators from all over the world every year. During the two days, almost a hundred companies and investors have come to the stand Madrid in Game to learn, from the councilor of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship area, Angel Childthe municipal commitment to the development of the video game industry in Madrid.

In this forum, Niño has highlighted the gaming ecosystem in the capital, which generates nearly 5,000 direct and indirect jobs in the sector and brings together 56.5% of the degrees and postgraduate degrees specialized in this industry in Spain. The councilor has also presented the entrepreneurship program Start IN Up of Madrid in Game, the Video Game Campusand other strategic pillars such as Video Game Clusterwhich already has more than 70 companies and with the association of other town councils in the country, such as that of Valencia or that of Malagaand which is positioning Spain as a benchmark in the sector.

New York is the next stop for Madrid in Game

With the aim of attracting talent and investors to the Spanish capital, and within an ambitious internationalization program that includes stops in America, Europe and Asia, Madrid in Game travels from Miami to New York.

The city of skyscrapers will host, on April 23, a networking event at the iconic Chrysler building with decision-makers from video game development companies and investors specialized in companies in the industry to present the initiative of the Madrid City Council and its commitment to the gaming and eSports sector.

The international promotion of the national video game industry is one of the priorities of Madrid in Game, which was already in the month of March at the Game Developers Conference 2024 of San Francisco to “continue building the brand, giving visibility to the project in the video game sector on an international scale, generating relevant contacts for its ecosystem and supporting the start-ups of the Start IN Up Program,” as explained in a press release.

Already in 2023, Madrid in Game participated in the main video game fairs in the world, including the Game Developers Conference of that year, the Tokyo Games Show and the Gamescom of Cologne, among others.
