The Israeli prime minister, BenjamÃn Netanyahu, has requested the postponement of his corruption judgment, claiming that he must concentrate all his efforts on leading the country in times of war. In the midst of the offensive in Gaza and the hostage crisis, Netanyahu wants to temporarily suspend the judicial processes that accuse him of fraud, bribery and abuse of trust in three different cases.
Meanwhile, Israel has announced the arrest of a 22 -year -old, accused of spying for Iran in the Israeli territory. As the Haaretz media has revealed, the alleged spy performed symbolic and sabotage acts such as placing banners against the government or cheating on the road. The case feeds the fear of an active Iranian network within the country, at a time of maximum sensitivity to the regional confrontation.
To this is added a high level warning on the Iranian nuclear program. The director of the International Atomic Energy Agency has alerted a possible new crisis if Tehran blocks access to its inspectors. He assures that the damage to international control over nuclear activities is already considerable, and that any attempt to expel observers would be interpreted as a direct threat to global stability.
