It all started in 2000 with a stop for coffee on the way from Madrid to Segovia and a sign that said “House for sale in Santiuste de Pedraza”. At that moment, Amelia Pérez Moreno and Pablo Olmos Adamowich looked at each other and knew that something was about to happen. They both lived and worked in the capital and whenever they could, they left the city looking for some peace. That same afternoon, they had already delivered the deposit of what would be their house, their new town and way of life. Has anyone else ever fantasized about a similar moment? Goodbye noise, goodbye pollution, hello calm life. From Santiuste de Pedraza, where 18 neighbors live together in winter, Amelia created her first soap as a result of providing a solution to her atopic dermatitis: shea soap, natural, soft, creamy, restorative and kind to her skin. Without haste and with great care, what is today “Los Soaps of My Wife” (as Pablo began calling the home business) was born. Entering the store, located in the old school, is a journey in time and space: it presides over an apothecary cabinet decorated with bobbins, the rest of the room is accompanied by Venetian mirrors, Tiffany lamps, flowers from the garden and the 11 types of soaps, which are handmade with natural, ecological ingredients and packaged one by one.
