Google messages begins to warn about images that contain nudes

Google’s messages application has begun to warn users of receiving sensitive content, after announcing this tool in October last year. This tool blurs the image if you consider that it contains a nude before the user sees it, which is given the option to eliminate it, but also to see and block the issuer. It also warns in the event that it is the user who wants to send or forward the image to make sure it wants to do.

The new tool is located in the ‘Protection and Safety’ section, within the message settings, as an option to be enabled in the case of users of legal age, as explained in 9to5google. In the case of children between 13 and 17, it is enabled by default, but can be deactivated in the Google account settings, while supervised users cannot disable it and their management is in the hands of the parents.

Google uses the Android System Safetycore system service to classify the images, which performs the processing on the device “does not send identifiable data or any of the contents or results classified to Google servers,” he explains on the help page.
