Some say that Spain is a country with too many historical traditions, and that, sometimes, it is necessary to “take seven keys to the sepulcher of the Cid.” According to others, we should keep institutions of which we have alive example in the Royal Bascongada Society of the country’s friends, with its basic headquarters in Azcoitia, founded in 1764, reigning Carlos III. Who wisely welcomed the proposals of Jovellanos and Campomanes to fully recognize the new institution, which continues his life today, with his delegate of court in Madrid, a position that Javier Olaciregui is currently performing, an ex -famous architect.
Yesterday we had the session in the formidable stage of the Torre de los Lujanes, in the Plaza de la Villa, headquarters of the Matritense Society of Friends of the country, in which Mr. Olaciregui entered the Basque Society, as a “number of number” to Christian Careaga Guzmán. Economist, trained at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), whom I had the honor of directing his doctoral thesis many years ago, in his financial expert activity.
The session was very lucid as a whole, Christian made his presentation well orchestrated by himself, with a flashlight and a kaleidoscope, passing from one theme to another in his dissertation. That dealt with flashes of China, with the revelation of the ancient celestial empire as the great industrial and technological power that today streams today.
We congratulate the “new friend of number” of Basque society in Madrid, waiting for the subsequent confirmatory hug in the Intsausti palace that this corporation has in Azcoitia.
Congratulations Christian, also including that of all your friends from the playful thought society, within which you conduct the great move to combine the efforts of those who integrate today’s Hispanicity, which covers no less than 600 million Spanish speakers.
