Since 2014 I have an excellent connection with Andorran friends, and from time to time we meet to talk about political, economic, and social problems.
This year 2025 I enjoyed especially on my visit to Andorra La Vella, invited by the Andorrana Family Business Association, of a hundred members, all of them very active in various sectors, with the predominance, currently, of real estate and construction. In all of Andorra there is a great dynamism of such sectors, without the hard stress that we have in Spain, for a more than limited supply and a demand that has overflowed.
Andorra is independent since the end of the Hispanic brand of Carlomagno, and has always had a deep and healthy concern for international stability, now more than worrying about the warmmail in which Ukraine, Gaza, Lebanon and the Middle East are found. With maximum danger in the front than Israel and the USA have formed to bomb Iran. Country that has abandoned the International Organization of Atomic Energy (OIEA), having been attacked in full negotiation with the US by USA itself. In which President Trump has called the “eleven days”.
Andorrana family business (EFA), effectively managed by Joan Tomás as general secretary, is for peace, and justice. In an Andorra that does not have its own armed forces, and that depending on the Treaty of Friendship with France and Spain, it feels protected by both bordering countries.
However, the dividends of peace, which were talked about both at the beginning of the 21st century, look distant today. Therefore, in the meeting we had within the framework of the EFA, important issues were raised, such as the need for a worldwide economic conference, for peace, by 2026.
So it is, to advocate a new much more multilateral situation, and not of hegemonic claims.
