The State Meteorological Agency has indicated in its prediction bulletin that the combination of diurnal warming with the arrival of frigid air at higher levels will create a Friday very moved in much of interior Spain.
The planned scenario is classic of late spring, when the cold air masses at altitude still find a ground warm enough to trigger vertical rises of humidity and the subsequent formation of developing clouds explosive.
The direct consequence will be precipitation of a nature stormy which will be distributed in two different phases throughout the day, starting at dawn and intensifying during the afternoon in the center and north of the peninsula.
The first storms will make an appearance before sunrise and will affect the two plateaus and the Central system. According to the agency’s data, during the early morning the electric shocks and downpours will initially be concentrated in the north of Estremadurathe Community of Madrid and the west of Castile-La Manchaand then extend towards the northern plateau as the disturbance progresses.
This first unstable wave will give way to a second round much more organized and virulent in the second half of the day, when the energy accumulated by morning sunshine serves as additional fuel for the convective cells.
Four autonomies in the spotlight of the stormy afternoon
The evening period will concentrate the bulk of the adverse phenomena in Castilla y León, the north and west of Castile-La Mancha, Rioja and Madrid.
In these four communities, the showers will burst in with force and they will be accompanied by storms, although hail cannot be ruled out in some especially vigorous areas.
With less probability, storms could also appear other enclaves of the southern plateau, the center and east of Andalusiathe south of the Valencian Community and certain mountainous areas of the northern half.
The thermal chapter will also experience a notable turnaround. Maximum temperatures will drop across the board in the Peninsula and in Balearicsalthough the decrease will be notable in the southeast of the peninsula, where thermometers could drop several degrees compared to the previous day.
On the contrary, the northeastern end will register a rise of the maxims. The minimums, on the other hand, will rise in the western half and fall in the eastern half and in the Balearic archipelago.
In Canary Islands Few changes are expected in the minimums and a rebound in the maximums in the midlands and summits of the most mountainous islands.
Regarding the wind, in the interior of the Peninsula it will be loose and variablealthough it will intensify in the eastern third, where it will blow from the east. Very strong gusts from the south are also expected during the early hours of the morning in parts of the interior of the the Basque Country and the Cantabrian slope of Navarre.
