Aemet advances a new respite this week for half of Spain, but very hot for mid -August

As in Machado’s poem, “one of the two Spain has to freeze the heart.” At least, let you breathe. The Spanish Meteorology Agency (AEMET) has announced on the afternoon of this Sunday that the last days of July and the first of August will be “colder than normal for the time of the year”, at least in the east peninsular and in the Balearic Islands. On the other hand, at the western end the atmosphere will be “warmer than usual.”

The last prognosis of the Aemet, valid until well entry next week, abounds that rainfall will be scarce in the southern half of the country, but they could become relatively abundant compared to the expected of these dates in areas of the Eastern Cantabrian, Mediterranean coast, Balearic Islands and Eastern Canary Islands.

Of course, although what half of the peninsula can enjoy is a new thermal respite, with decreases of up to five degrees in several areas, for the week of August 4 to 10 the circumstances are not so clear. Although the uncertainty of the prognosis increases, the Aemet does indicate that the temperatures will be the own of the time of the year, although they could also remain below the usual in the east peninsular and the Balearic Islands.

“With the information currently available,” the AEMET affects, the week of August 11 to 17 would be “warmer than normal for the time” in large areas of the peninsula. “There is more uncertainty regarding rainfall, but in principle they would be scarce in most of Spain.”
