A DANA arrives with heavy rains and a drop in temperatures in these areas

He The weather will be stable and sunny in much of Spain on Tuesday. The showers will be isolated, being more likely in the Pyrenees, the Iberian System and the mountain ranges of the southeast. High temperatures will return to several areas of the north after the collapse on Sunday, and in inland areas of the southern half temperatures will exceed 35 ºC and even 38 ºC in parts of the Guadalquivir. From Wednesday, a DANA could bring storms to large areas of the peninsula.

The forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) indicates that the skies will be very clear or with some intervals of high clouds. Only in the west of Galicia, the eastern Cantabrian Sea and coastal areas of Catalonia and the southeast interior is low cloudiness expected in the morning, with probable mist and fog banks. Likewise, more compact cloudiness is expected in the Strait and the Alboran area, without ruling out some weak and scattered rain in the Strait area and in Melilla. In the afternoon, cloudiness will develop in the eastern third of the peninsula, as well as in the mountains of the south, with a low probability of showers and occasional storms in the east of the Pyrenees and the Iberian System, as well as in the mountain ranges of the southeast, somewhat more likely in the area of Sierra Nevada.

Temperatures will rise in the northeastern half of the peninsula and the north of the Balearic Islands, with a notable local increase in the upper Ebro. They will fall in the west of Galicia and the Canary Islands. The main increases among the provincial capitals will be in Vitoria (nine degrees more, from 25 on Monday to 34 this Tuesday), Bilbao (seven more) and Burgos and Pamplona (six more), reports Servimedia. In addition, temperatures will exceed 35 degrees in large inland areas of the southern half of the peninsula, without ruling them out in the depressions of the northeast and in the Northern Plateau, and could exceed 38 in parts of the Guadalquivir. It will be warmer in Badajoz (38 degrees), Córdoba and Seville (37), and Cáceres, Ciudad Real, Jaén, Logroño, Toledo, Zamora and Zaragoza (36), while it will be milder especially in A Coruña (22), Santander (24) and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Oviedo and Pontevedra (26).

On Wednesday, a DANA will approach Spain from the Atlantic, reports eltiempo.es. During the early hours of Thursday it will be located off the Portuguese coast, and it would be from this position that it would favour instability. Although the meteorological portal indicates that the forecasts are still highly uncertain, everything seems to indicate that the central and western part of the country, from Cadiz to Bilbao via Madrid, would be the most affected.

In this context, the storms could be intense, and Eltiempo.es especially highlights the possible accumulation of precipitation in a short period of time. In addition, there could also be some associated strong gusts of wind. During that day, temperatures would drop significantly in almost the entire country and would remain between 25 and 30ºC in many areas. However, in the east of the peninsula and in the Ebro valley it will still be hot, with maximum temperatures that could reach 35ºC in some areas.

Looking ahead to Friday and the weekend, the DANA will weaken, but will maintain its position, which means that forecasts will continue to predict storms in large areas of the Peninsula, with the main exception being in the east, where they would be less likely. Looking ahead to the beginning of September, instability could continue over Spain with storms and showers and temperatures would remain at normal values for this time of year.
