Vicente Vallés has reviewed on Antena 3 Noticias 2 the latest judicial movements that affect the environment of Pedro Sánchez and the PSOE. The opening of the oral trial against Begoña Gómez and the new proceedings in the investigation of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero focused an intervention in which the journalist also recalled other pending procedures.
The presenter summarized both news with one sentence. “The trial against Begoña Gómez is now open, and the investigation into Zapatero is being expanded with new proceedings”. Its review coincided with the resolutions known this Monday, which place the two cases at different procedural moments.
In the case of the wife of the President of the Government, the judge Juan Carlos Peinado has agreed to open an oral trial before a jury tribunal. In the investigation related to the former president, Judge José Luis Calama has scheduled new appearances and requested documentation about the jewelry seized in his office.
Begoña Gómez will go to jury trial
Peinado’s decision affects Begoña Gómez for the alleged crimes of influence peddling and embezzlement. His advisor in Moncloa, Cristina Álvarez, will also be tried for this latest crime. The opening of an oral trial allows the accusations to be examined in court, without implying a declaration of guilt.
