The State Meteorological Agency has drawn a thermal map that places most of the peninsular interior above 36 degrees, a barrier that will fall short in the central hours of the day for the Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys, where the mercuries may exceed the 40s.
The fault lies with a powerful anticyclone that will continue to be installed over the Peninsula, blocking any hint of instability and leaving completely clear skies. Only in the north of the Canary Islands, the Strait area, Melilla and some points in Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea are intervals of low clouds expected during the first hours, with scattered fog banks that will tend to dissipate as the day progresses. On the Galician coasts, however, cloudiness could even reinforce in the afternoon and leave coastal mists.
A sudden rise in the north and haze in the south
