Cerdán’s lawyer and Captain Yepes met after his accusation

Santos Cerdán’s lawyer, Jacobo Teijelo, and Civil Guard captain Juan Sánchez Yepes met in the lawyer’s office after Judge Santiago Pedraz charged both in the “Leire Díez case” for alleged crimes of revealing secrets, bribery and against State institutions.

This is an appointment confirmed by LA RAZÓN, but it would await an apparently normal reason given the professional relationship between the two as Teijelo is the one assisting Yepes’ defense in another judicial procedure.

The man who was a captain assigned to the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard between 2008 and July 2022 is being investigated in the National Court for his connection with the million-dollar fraud – of at least 136 million euros – committed with the Gaslow company in the VAT on hydrocarbons. But now a new judicial procedure is added for being, in the opinion of the magistrate, one of the alleged members of a plot aimed at destabilizing the causes that affect the PSOE and the socialist Government of Pedro Sánchez.

It is an organization that both the former militant Leire Díez, the businessman Javier Pérez Dolset and the former Secretary of Organization of the PSOE Santos Cerdán would have allegedly devised with the knowledge of the party leadership who, in addition, would have covered part of the expenses of the activities carried out.

Regarding Teijelo, the magistrate explains that he would have received at least 125,000 euros from the PSOE for legal advice until the former Secretary of Organization was charged in the “Koldo case” in June 2025, and that this would be recorded in “apparent” documentary support and in a “false billing.”

Pedraz also assures that his integration into the organization is “at the expense of the result of future proceedings that may be carried out,” but that it is true that Cerdán’s lawyer acted “materially supportive” of the interests and objectives of the organization, being responsible for one of the lines of action: the so-called “hydrocarbons.”

As stated in the judicial resolution, it was Leire Díez who, “from a role of hierarchical superiority,” told him that “I have already assigned all this hydrocarbons to you.”

Precisely, the hydrocarbon procedures were, in the judge’s opinion, the priority line of action for Santos Cerdán “by order of the one”, but also for the rest of the members of the plot to dismantle the causes that affect the PSOE and the Government.

For this statement, Pedraz is based, among other things, on what Teijelo expressed in a conversation with Pérez Dolset, which states that “what I can tell you is that what there is is one more opportunity for them (Government), than for me or my client. Firstly, because there is a nullity of actions that could be transmitted to the Koldo cases.

In fact, Yepes, Teijelo, Dolset and Díez met in December 2024 and at that meeting Cerdán’s lawyer presented the former socialist militant as “a person from the PSOE.”

The meeting was recorded and in it it can be seen, says the judge, that Yepes, even knowing that it was information classified as secret, agreed to the requests of the former socialist militant, informing her about the internal structure of the UCO or even providing information about some of its members, especially Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Balas – the main investigator of the cases.

«Look, the composition, operation, the names of the UCO are secret by law because tomorrow it is published and they know it’s me and they even hammer my card (…). “All this is secret, I am committing a crime of revealing secrets,” said the captain of the Civil Guard.

This command was an advisor to the “political” general director of the María Gámez Armed Institute, who held these high responsibilities between 2020 and 2023. Sources from the Civil Guard consulted by this newspaper reported yesterday that Yepes “was providing services in the technical office of the general direction.”

The Judicial Police of the Civil Guard broke into, in fact, the headquarters of the General Directorate to collect a file on internal confidential information that was opened due to a possible leak and that affects an agent.
