Science Puerto Rico (CienciaPR), as part of the celebration of its 20th anniversary, invited seventh to ninth grade students from public and private schools, as well as those who receive education at home (“homeschoolers”), to participate in the program Seeds of Triumph 2026-2027.
The call is aimed at residents of Puerto Rico interested in the disciplines STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and in developing their leadership through projects with community impact. The program will be offered in hybrid mode (in-person and virtual), from August to May, and is free of cost..
Semillas de Triunfo offers access to STEM educational workshops focused on scientific experimentation through visits to research laboratories, as well as experiments and workshops on communication, computing, and systems programming. Likewise, it provides mentoring opportunities, in order to develop leadership skills and the support network.
As part of the program, the development of a scientific communication or dissemination project is promoted in schools or communities, and those who complete the process become part of the group of STEM Ambassadors Class 2026-2027 of CienciaPR.
“At Ciencia Puerto Rico, we create experiences that bring science closer and strengthen leadership. With this call, opportunities in STEM are opened and the use of science to transform communities is promoted”said the doctor Liz Hernandezprogram manager, in a press release.
Each participant will receive a welcome packet with the materials necessary for the program. In addition, you will have the experience of meeting women leaders in STEM and role models, residents inside and outside of Puerto Rico, through mentoring activities, in-person events, the online talk series Juntas Podemos and the Digital Collection of Latinas in STEM.
Students interested in participating in Semillas de Triunfo must review the requirements to apply and, if eligible, complete the application, which consists of two parts: complete the form – available at sowingsemillaspr.org– on or before May 19and participate in an online orientation on April 21, at 4:00 pmon the CienciaPR YouTube channel or watch the recording on the website before the May 19. will be selected 120 studentsHowever, every applicant will have the opportunity to have access to complementary online activities and digital resources.

Since its creation in 2015, Semillas de Triunfo has impacted more than 155,000 people in Puerto Rico, through the scientific dissemination projects of its participants. The program has a coalition of collaborators from various sectors in Puerto Rico and the United States.
