An intense exchange of messages on X (former Twitter) has faced Ester Muñoz with Víctor GutiérrezSecretary of LGTBI Policies of the PSOE. It all started yesterday when the Foreign and Commonwealth Office published the statements of the ministers of Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom on the Israel death penalty bill.
The Popular Party spokesperson cited the publication and sent a strong message: “Spain, again, isolated”. Given these statements, Gutiérrez’s response hardly took long to arrive. The socialist deputy harshly attacked Ester and called her reaction “cynicism.”
“Have you spoken out about the death penalty that Israel has approved? It is outrageous that you criticize the presidentwhich has taken a public position, when you are bowing your heads with genocide and every nonsense that Israel perpetrates. Not even capable of condemning what happened on Palm Sunday, please!! “How much cynicism,” he said.
“Unlike Sánchez, I do not distinguish between Palestinians and Israelis”
This direct attack has led to a new response from the Popular Party representative, who was quick to dismantle Víctor Gutiérrez’s story. “In fact, yes. Yesterday, at a press conference. Publicly. Nothing justifies the death penalty“, he began explaining.
Next, Muñoz made a comparison with the President of the Government and stated that “Unlike Sánchez, I do not distinguish between Palestinians and Israelis“. “It’s always wrong,” he added with a winking emoticon.
But the message does not end here. The spokesperson continued reminding the socialist that a few weeks ago he abstained from a NLP to condemn the persecution and murder of Christians for being Christians. “You are more concerned that Palm Sunday is celebrated than that Christians are murdered for being Christians. Classes on how to be a good Christian… another day“, he concluded.
A viral debate: divided opinions
X users did not take long to react to the exchange of messages between Ester Muñoz and Víctor Gutiérrez. While some applauded Muñoz’s forcefulness, others questioned his criticism, generating a debate that quickly went viral and divided opinions.
“Well, you should distinguish between those who are genocidal and those who harass and massacre the Palestinians. The death penalty that Israel has approved is ONLY for Palestinians, not for Israeli citizens. That is why it is neither fair nor moral and You had to know that with what you charge…“said one user.
“Read Ester’s response” invites one of the users to Víctor. “It is very complete. And if you feel encouraged, respond. The president’s problem is that he uses selected facts to give a social message. But if the message does not apply to other facts, It’s called opportunism“, he stated.
