New York – Openai is turning Chatgpt into a virtual merchant who can help sell products for ETSY and Shopify, while the artificial intelligence company seeks new income in online trade.
Chatgpt users can now buy directly from ETSY vendors while interacting with chatbot and can soon do the same with Shopify sellers.
Compeating with companies such as Amazon and Google for the purchase rates of digital purchases could be a new source of money for OpenAI. The company has not obtained profits and has depended on investors to support the costs of building and executing its powerful AI systems.
Openai said he is working with the Stripe payments in the technical standards that will allow purchases through the Instant Checkout system.
Several payment companies have been working with AI developers in the so -called AI agents who, given a credit card, could find and make purchases on behalf of a buyer.
Openai said that Chatgpt will not favor these items in the results of their products.
“When classifying several merchants who sell the same product, Chatgpt considers factors such as availability, price, quality, if a merchant is the main seller and if Instant Checkout is enabled, to optimize the user’s experience,” the company said in a statement.
