UCO report, PSOE and last minute reactions Pedro Sánchez

The controversy broke out after the publication of a report by the Central Operating Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard that directly links Santos Cerdán with the Koldo case. According to the document, Cerdán would have been in charge of coordinating the alleged payments related to irregular commissions in public contracts. This implication has generated a strong political shaking, since it is one of the most influential figures of the PSOE and one of the trusted men of President Pedro Sánchez.

Given the “consistent indications” collected by the UCO, the investigating judge of the case, Leopoldo Puente, has offered Cerdán the possibility of voluntarily declaring on June 25, as a previous step to a possible imputation. As a consequence of this situation, and in an attempt not to harm the party or the government, Cerdán yesterday presented his resignation as Secretary of Organization of the PSOE and has resigned from his deputy minutesensuring that he will fully collaborate with justice to defend his innocence.
