Windows 11 incorporates hot patches updates without computer restart

Windows 11 already allows you to install security updates that are immediately effective and that do not require restarting the computer, allowing the user to continue using it during the process. Microsoft has included in the 24h2 version of Windows 11 Enterprise the update of hot patches (‘Hotatching’), a novelty that aims to expedite the arrival of security corrections minimizing interruptions for users.

‘Hotpathing’ offers “immediate protection”, since the update begins to operate with its installation and offers “the same level of security patches as the monthly standard security updates published on the second Tuesday of each month,” explains the company on the Technological Community page. It does not require the equipment to restart, allowing users to continue using their computers while the updates are installed.

This type of updates will be distributed in quarterly cycles in those equipment that are compatible in the months after the installation of the monthly security update (January, April, July and October). As Microsoft has pointed out, “this cycle reduces the amount of reset necessary for twelve -to -only four -per year Windows updates, thanks to eight patches updates planned annually.”
