The demo relies on three fundamental pillars: The 5G network combined with Open Gateway, artificial intelligence (AI) and Telefónica’s remote control center. The first allows to offer high speed connectivity and, together with the APIS application, facilitate the planning and execution of safe flights. AI and computing capacity applied to drones allow these aircraft perform complex tasks such as critical infrastructure control, material delivery or fire prevention, among others. Finally, the remote control center of this company will be in charge of Supervise and manage drones operations A hundred kilometers away to guarantee a “integral and safe” service, they explain.
