65% of households bet on renewable gas

Most households welcome renewable gas as a fundamental instrument to decarbonize its energy consumption, mainly linked to heating, as can be seen from a survey conducted by Salvetti Llombart for Nedgia, Naturgy’s gas distributor.

The main conclusion of this study is that 72% of respondents believe that this energy source fits their needs and 65% consider it differential compared to other renewable energies because it is a continuous and non -seasonal energy source.

Marta de Pablos, director of Nedgia capture, emphasized the growing interest and good reception of this energy source among respondents. Among the aspects most valued by consumers include that it is a renewable energy; Its ability to use resources, which contributes to reducing the problem of waste by decreasing the environmental impact, and the autonomy that it involves may occur in Spain.

This acceptance of renewable gas translates into a great predisposition to its hiring. According to the same study, the intention of hiring is 65% and rejection only 4%. In addition, 52% would be willing to hire it even if they had a more expensive price than other energies.

The study reveals that, although renewable gas is still a little known concept, its perception is highly positive. In fact, respondents granted a general score of 8.4 out of 10, with a percentage of rejection of less than 2%, demonstrating broad acceptance of renewable gas.

Likewise, 72% of the participants believe that renewable gas fits their energy needs, while 65% perceive it as a differential alternative to other renewable energies, thanks to their continuous and non -seasonal supply capacity.

In terms of hiring intention, the results are equally encouraging: 65% of respondents would be willing to hire renewable gas, while the rejection percentage remains at a low 4%. In addition, more than half of the respondents (52%) said they would hire it even if its price were higher than other energy sources.

These data reflect the growing interest of consumers in sustainable energy solutions and confirm the potential of renewable gas as a key alternative in the energy transition.

Among the aspects most valued by consumers include the fact that it is a renewable energy, the ability to use resources decreasing the environmental impact and the fact that it can occur in Spain and not depend on external factors.

The potential of Spain

Spain has one of the largest potential in Europe for the production of biomethane. This renewable gas offers a viable and competitive discarking alternative that can be integrated into the existing infrastructure without replacing equipment, which represents an economically efficient option and with less impact on consumers.

Renewable gas for a balanced energy transition

The study by Nedgia, addresses some of the main challenges facing the sector, among which the misinformation of gas boilers, which has generated uncertainty in consumers, and the need to advance in energy transition a competitive and balanced approaches.

“We must continue to insist that gas boilers are not prohibited. It is more through the use of renewable gases will decarbonize a large part of the house park and should be so because it is the most sustainable and efficient solution. Therefore, the boiler is a great instrument to decarbonize,” explains Raúl Suárez, CEO of Nedgia.
