Today Meta has announced a new series of new features aimed at facilitating the management of WhatsApp groups from today and globally. New features include better control of surveys, @everyone mentions and other improvements.
Anonymous WhatsApp surveys
WhatsApp surveys receive the highest number of news, three. The first is that users can now set an end timeafter which no more votes will be accepted. The second is that managers gain the ability to hide the names of those who have votedwhich will allow members to share their choices anonymously. Finally, WhatsApp allows edit a survey question within 15 minutes of posting it. This way, it is possible to correct typos or clarify a question without having to delete the survey and create a new one.
Mentions @everyone
So that a message specifically addressed to a participant does not go unnoticed by the recipient, users often tag a person by mentioning their name using the @ symbol. WhatsApp now adds compatibility with @todos mentions. Instead of manually tagging each member, users can type @everyone to notify the entire group of an important message.
@everyone notifications are received even when the group is muted. However, each member can independently silence these notifications from the WhatsApp notification settings.
To prevent the @everyone function from being abused, In groups that have more than 32 members, only administrators will be able to use it.
Less laborious group creation
WhatsApp now allows you to create a new group chat selecting participants from another existing group. This feature can be useful when a small number of members want to talk about a specific topic without filling the main group with unnecessary messages for the rest.
