The World Health Organization confirmed this Tuesday that seven cases of hantavirus have been detected in the Hondius expedition cruisewhich remains held off Cape Verde. Three of those affected have died, one is in serious condition and three others have symptoms.
In the next few hours it is planned to evacuate for medical reasons two sick crew members of British and Dutch nationality, as well as a person linked to the passenger who died on May 2. Meanwhile, the rest of the passengers, from 23 countries, including 14 Spaniards, along with the crew, will remain on board until a port is authorized for disembarkation. Among the options considered are Las Palmas and Tenerife.
