One UI 9the new version of the customization layer based on Android 17 for devices Galaxyis getting closer. Samsung opened the beta program on May 12 for Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultraalthough it has not yet published a complete official list with all the models that will receive the stable update. Even so, brand support policy and internal trials detected in some models allow us to draw a fairly clear list of compatible mobile phones that is included in the specialized media SamMobile.
With One UI 9, Samsung talks about a version focused on creativity, accessibility and security. The beta adds new tools to Samsung Noteswith decorative ribbons and more stroke styles, integrates Contacts with Creative Studio to create custom profile cards and redesign the quick panel with more control over brightness, sound and multimedia playback.
There are also important changes in accessibility. One UI 9 incorporates a new feature called Text Spotlightwhich allows you to enlarge or highlight selected text in a floating window, improves keyboard cursor control, and unifies TalkBack that were previously separated between Google and Samsung. In security, the layer can warn, block the installation or execution of applications considered high risk, and recommend their removal through security policy updates.
Added to this are the new features of Android 17. Among them are the floating bubbles For any application, a contact selector more restrictive so that apps do not access the entire agenda, improvements in adapting to different screen sizes, the Advanced Protectionimproved support for satellite connectivity, improvements with UWB and performance adjustments.
As usually happens in these cases, the deployment will not reach everyone at the same time. The public beta is limited for now to the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra in half a dozen countries among which Spain is not found. Samsung, in addition, would already be testing Android 17 and One UI 9 internally in more models, including the Galaxy S25, S24, S23, some foldables and several Galaxy A. Sammy Fans assures that the launch of the stable version should occur with the next Samsung foldables at the end of July and that the deployment for already sold mobile phones would begin a few weeks later.
What is foreseeable is that the first compatible Galaxy will begin to be updated between August and Septemberstarting with the most recent high-end, and that the bulk of mobile phones arrive between September and the last months of the year. As always, the schedule will depend on the country, the operator and the specific model.
These are the 68 Galaxy phones and tablets which should receive One UI 9 and Android 17, according to SamMobile’s listing and Samsung’s support policy.
