The new function that is going to try WhatsApp to stop the mass spam

WhatsApp has announced that it will prove to limit the amount of dissemination messages that can be shared per month in the ‘app’, both at the user level and companies, to stop spam on the platform. The Social Messaging Social Network owned by Meta has some functions to configure dissemination communications and avoid spam, as is the case of the tool to cancel subscription for chats with companies, with which it allows you to choose what kind of messages the users want to receive, or directly stop receiving offers and advertisements of specific companies.

Now, WhatsApp continues to work to improve the experience of users in the face of spam content and, for this, it has moved that it will prove to limit the amount of dissemination messages that users and companies can share per month, in order to avoid annoying practices with the massive sending of dissemination messages. Specifically, these tests will begin to be carried out over the next weeks and will affect individual dissemination messages.

With this, a monthly limit will be established that will vary during the trial period, although limits of, for example, 30 monthly diffusion messages for individual users will be contemplated. In this way, for those users who wish to send more messages to a high number of recipients, Meta has indicated that they have other communication routes within WhatsApp, such as state updates or channels.

Limitation of messages at WhatsApp Business

Following this line, for business accounts, goal currently allows the dissemination of messages for free and unlimited with WhatsApp Business. However, the company plans to launch a version of the dissemination function of messages with additional tools for companies.

In addition, these dissemination messages can be programmed to configure the shipment to a specific time and day. In this sense, during the proof period of this payment version, the company accounts may have 250 custom messages for free and, subsequently, must pay to obtain additional messages. However, for the moment, Meta has not shared what the rate will be for these messages.

Likewise, Meta also intends to change the logo for the WhatsApp Business application that, instead of composing the platform logo with a ‘B’ inside, will be replaced with a symbol of ‘+’.
