The judge of the “Begoña Gómez case” has already claimed the contracting files that Red.es, the Higher Sports Council and the Madrid City Council awarded to Innova Next, the company of Carlos Barrabés, the businessman to whom Pedro Sánchez's wife recommended by letter, but the investigation by the Civil Guard has identified almost one hundred (99) awards to companies in Barrabés, for a total value of 24.9 million euros. Of them, 22 (for an amount of 22.8 million) were awarded to Innova Next, the company on which Judge Juan Carlos Peinado is now focusing his investigation after the Provincial Court of Madrid limited the complaint of Clean Hands, leaving The possible influence of Begoña Gómez in the rescue of Air Europa due to her meetings with the former CEO of Globalia Javier Hidalgo and the commission agent of the “Koldo case” Víctor de Aldama is outside the scope of the procedure.
The analysis of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) has identified 28 files in which Innova Next SLU is the winning company between August 2017 and December 2023. And the list of contracting bodies that opted for the Barrabés company – cited to be declared under investigation next Friday, although his defense has requested a postponement for health reasons – is extensive and varied. From the City Council of the capital of Spain itself to the Post Office, the General Staff of the Army, Red.es (the public body that focuses the bulk of the judicial investigation), the Community of Madrid and Renfe, among others.
One of the largest contracts, which the judge has claimed, was awarded by the Madrid City Council to Innova Next on August 17, 2017 for almost 1.4 million euros for “support services for the management of the innovation center La N@ve”, which was repeated in almost the same terms in December 2021 (in this case through the Government Area of Economy, Innovation and Employment of the Madrid City Council), for almost 1.5 million euros.
Correos also trusted the company of Barrabés – a professor in the Begoña Gómez master's degree – on December 13, 2019 to carry out a “Digital Transformation training program” for a total of 165,000 euros. Like the General Staff of the Army, which awarded him a course on the integration of programming and web development for 14,800 euros in August 2020.
The contracts from Red.es to the Barrabés company are among the largest (more than ten million in total between March and August 2021), but they are not the only ones. The Higher Sports Council (CSD) awarded Innova Text SLU a contract for 3,044,890.5 euros on August 4, 2022 for the organization's support service for the “design and operation of the innovation and digital transformation model in the field of sport” and to coordinate all the innovation programs developed by the CSD.
Also high is the amount of the file that accounts for the award to the same company, by the Valencian Community, of 1,559,481.62 euros for the contracting of “professional services of a governance team to launch the District Talent”.
Regardless of the judge's assessment of these contracts, in his expansion of the complaint, Manos Médicas also considers the awards to said company by the CSD and Renfe to be irregular, which in his opinion raises the amount to 18.5 million. of the “contracts 'gifted' to Begoña Gómez's friend.”
