The non-profit organization Scuba Dogs Society will hold a fundraising event on August 8th, in preparation for the International Coastal Cleanup.
Scuba Dogs CEO, Maria Ocasio Torresexplained that the fundraising will allow for the financing and coordination of clean-up activities, which will take place simultaneously on more than 200 beaches and rivers in Puerto Rico.
“Puerto Rico is a place with ecosystems of great ecological value that deserve to be cared for. The International Coastal Cleanup is a global initiative that seeks to unite people to educate about the problem of waste that reaches aquatic ecosystems.. Scuba Dogs Society has been the coordinator of this initiative in Puerto Rico for decades and this year is committing to raising even more funds to support the effort,” Ocasio Torres said.
The Profondo International Coastal Cleanup Event –which will feature live music and opportunities to learn more about the environmental organization– It will be on Thursday, August 8th, starting at 5:00 pmon the premises of the Scuba Dogs Society, in the spa of The Escambrónbehind the old Normandie hotel, in San Juan.
