Precisely today we are talking about a very interesting mid-range presented these days by Oppo. Coincidentally, a new realme smartphone also arrived these days (we have already talked at length about this manufacturer). It is the GT 6 and opens a category known as flagship killers: the mid-range that seek to get the high-end or flagships out of the race. Does this GT 6 achieve it? Let’s go step by step.
In the design section, it shows the traditional discretion and elegance of high-end models, with a camera module framed in a “mirror” that differentiates it from the rest of the body. Perhaps a matte tone would have given it an even greater elegance value., but this is personal judgment that leans towards dunks on mobile phones. Available in green and gray, it wears a 6.78-inch screen with a Full HD+ AMOLED panel, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and capable of reaching (the first surprise) 6000 nits of brightness, something that very few phones (regardless of price) they get.
Beyond what is typical, the truth is that the realme GT 6 offers incredible specifications at a very reasonable price. An authentic mid range, high dress, for just over 500 euros. Here we leave you with one of the great candidates of the year for a better mobile quality-price ratio. And all this with very careful energy consumption thanks to some details of the software, the battery and the use of AI… Because yes, it includes artificial intelligence in some of its sections.
Positive: the screen has one of the most advanced protections of the moment, a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. On the “what a shame” side, it has certification IP65, could have a little more to aim for at the top of the table.
One factor where most mid-range phones limp is the processor. Obviously, the price determines and, depending on the mobile, it can constitute 25% of the value of the device and here most manufacturers lean towards price. However, oh pleasant surprise, realme has leaned towards a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the most advanced from Qualcomm to date and the same as the top of the range.
To that adds a 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. All this power is smoking and realme has given it a dual vapor chamber and cooling system to deal with the heating. Which is barely noticeable in demanding tasks. And all this without losing price for the user: we are talking about 549 euros.
Cameras? One 32 MP front, two 50 MP (main and tele) on the back that add up to an 8 MP wide angle. The positive thing is that the sensors (Sony) are among the most advanced from the Japanese manufacturer. The use of AI in image processing is also a good sign. But (nothing is perfect) the lenses are not always there and in night mode it is noticeable. Portrait and landscape, remarkable. The optical stabilization is very interesting, a step forward in this section.
Regarding the battery and charging (one of the fields in which Realme has always been a reference) it has a 5,500 mAh battery and fast charging (yes to the included charger) that allows you to go from 0 to 50 in less than 10 minutes and full charging is achieved without even waiting half an hour. Realme’s guarantee regarding the battery is that we will have up to 1,600 charge cycles while preserving its qualities.
Verdict: Right now it is THE mid-range, without a doubt. As simple as that.
