Oakland, California – OpenAI sued a Elon Musk for unfair competition and interference in their commercial relations with investors and clients, intensifying a legal battle between the creator of Chatgpt and the billionaire who helped finance the artificial intelligence startup a decade ago.
The accusations against Musk were presented on Wednesday in a federal court in California as a contrademanda to the Litigation of Musk against Openai, which is aimed at a jury trial next year.
Musk, an initial OpenAI investor who now directs his own artificial intelligence company, XAI, began a legal offensive against OpenAI and his CEO Sam Altman over a year agodemanding for non -compliance with what he said was the betrayal of his foundational objectives as a non -profit research laboratory.
A federal judge in March denied Musk’s request from a court order that prevented Openai from becoming a profit company, but said he could accelerate a trial to consider Musk claims. He offered to hold a trial later this year, but has postponed until March 2026.
