Neither football nor athletics: the sport that can bring Spain the most medals in Paris 2024

Spain is entering the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with a delegation of 382 athletes, the second largest in its history, with the aim of surpassing the 22 medals obtained in Barcelona 92.

The optimism comes from the good results achieved during the Olympic cycle, which leads the president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco, to predict that this record will be surpassed.

Since the Barcelona 92 Olympic Games, Spain has maintained an average of around 20 medals in each edition, with the exception of Sydney 2000, where 11 were obtained. In the most recent editions, Spain won 17 medals in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

Alejandro Blanco has dared to make an optimistic prediction for the performance in Paris for the first time, based on the excellent form of the Spanish athletes.
