UFDthe group electricity distributor Naturgyinvested 408 million in 2025 in the digitization and improvement of its more than 116,600 kilometers of network in Spainwhich represents an increase of 10% compared to the average investment of the last five years. Since 2021, UFD’s investments have exceeded 1,850 million euros with the focus on improving the quality of service to its clients and strengthening infrastructure.
According to the energy company, these investments have been mainly aimed at advancing digitalization, promoting innovation and the implementation of advanced technologies in telemetry and remote management of supply points, as well as in remote control and sensorization of networks.
For Monica Puente, Director of Electricity Networks Spain at Naturgy, “UFD once again placed its investments in 2025 at the maximum level allowed by the regulator and our vocation is to continue doing so in the coming years to improve the resilience of our infrastructure, expand its capacity and advance in digitalization.”
Expand capacity
In addition, according to the company itself, UFD is investing in expanding the capacity of its network to accommodate new demand and continue improving the supply of its almost four million customers. According to Naturgy, a part of the investments made in digitalization have been financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU Programwithin the framework of Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan prepared by the Government of Spain.
This effort, the distributor assures, has made it possible to improve the quality of service measured through the interruption time equivalent to the installed power (TIEPI). This indicator is 11% better than five years ago, reaching an average service interruption time of 31.9 minutes in 2025.

Currently, it serves 3.9 million supply points, through a network of 116,600 kilometers of high, medium and low voltage lines, maintaining and operating the networks with the commitment to guarantee service in conditions of efficiency, safety and quality.
Furthermore, throughout this year 2026, in its commitment to continue advancing in its digital transformation, the company is dedicating time and resources to improving and expanding its Digital Services Platform (www.ufd.es) as a space where users can carry out all their transactions from any device, at any time and anywhere, and as the main point of contact between the various agents of the electrical system.
