Disruptive solutions to reduce emissions

The Industrial Technology Innovation Hub founded by ArcelorMittal, Holcim, Iberia and Repsol, All4Zero, presents 10 new technological solutions to accelerate industrial decarbonization. The solutions, developed by startups and technology centers from Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and Canada, are linked to the capture and transport of CO₂, the reuse of industrial water, the chemical recycling of polyurethane and the energy recovery of sewage sludge. «After weeks of analysis and study, the Hub’s technicians and specialists from the different companies that form the alliance have evaluated the proposals in joint sessions that combine scientific knowledge, industrial experience and complementary perspectives. This coordinated work allows us to select the solutions with the greatest potential and subsequently advance with the startups in the development of proofs of concept aimed at decarbonization. The technologies presented stand out for their disruptive nature and their potential to drive a real transformation in the industry. Furthermore, seven of the 10 technological solutions selected are Spanish, specifically from the Valencian Community, Aragon, the Community of Madrid and Navarra,” the hub spokespersons detail.

This year’s ten proposals have been selected from among 160 initiatives presented and are added to those of 2024, five of which have already been launched. The projects already underway are related to the capture and mineralization of CO₂, the reuse of industrial water, the recovery of waste and the production of renewable hydrogen. «Among the initiatives, the collaboration with SBS in the transformation of CO₂ into value-added products stands out; the use of AI and hyperspectral imaging together with CIRCE to improve waste recovery; water regeneration in Iberia facilities using Teqma technology; advanced desalination with Eurecat; and the development of more efficient electrolysis with Power to Hydrogen (P2H2). “These projects reflect All4Zero’s commitment to scaling disruptive technology solutions.”
