The PSOE is a pressure cooker. As this newspaper has known, the party launches a notice to Moncloa, from where the political strategy of the government president is cooking without taking into account Ferraz’s opinion. “If something fat from the Central Operating Unit (UCO), the distraction (in reference to the Executive’s diplomatic offensive) will not last anything,” explains a socialist tanned in dozens of battles.
The party assumes that Pedro Sánchez’s coup to Israel seeks to “cover,” according to the sources consulted, all cases that bother the President: the “Cerdán Case” and the causes against his wife, his brother and the State Attorney General. The purpose is that public opinion stops receiving pills of the PSOE corruption.
Sánchez and his team in seeds try to create the climate of “new stage” and remove the public conversation of the cases that have removed to their organization and that have led to former socialist “number three”, Santos Cerdán, to the prison of Soto del Real, where he remains provisionally since June 30.
The truth is that the PSOE faces a complicated autumn in the judicial and political. And, as this newspaper already advanced, in the party they are especially restless for the possible news that the UCO can contribute to the investigation of the “Cerdán Case.” It must be remembered that the Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, is in La Quiniela to appear dotted in any of the pending reports that the Armed Institute will send to the Judge of the Supreme Court Leopoldo Puente.
Moreover, within the PSOE there are voices that regret that Sanchez has to “polarize” the foreign relations of Spain to try to gain oxygen at home. A socialist who held high positions in community institutions also recognizes the sterile of the measures announced by Sánchez: «The only thing that would work is for the European Union to remove the association agreement with Israel. Moving as a country just does not help much ».
In any case, the feeling that touches them, on their own, dealing with the spot of the scandals has been extended for the halls of the PSOE. And that while the Moncloa has resources to counteract the erosion of the image of the president and the Executive, in Ferraz they are “sold.” The consulted sources regret the damage to the options of municipal and regional candidates.
The departure of Paco Salazar from the Monclovita machinery removed the party, which was thrown over Moncloa, because the hard core of the government president ran out of a “black leg” of socialism with voice and influence in the political strategy of presidency. In a way it can be said that the only direct thread between the chief of the Executive and the general secretary of the PSOE is Sánchez himself by embodying both positions.
And, although it is true that in the socialist executive there are several ministers –Félix Bolaños, Elma Sainz, Óscar Puente and Pilar Alegría–, In truth, the device that manages the leader’s strategy – and who has to make hundred decisions per day – is in the Moncloa.
There, in fact, less attention is paid to the sensitivity of the party when making decisions. Moncloa, from the outbreak of the “Cerdán Case,” has tried to establish a firewall that separates the maximum as possible from the party. Although it has not been easy at all. And in Ferraz they begin to raise their arms, tired of playing war on their own.
