Castilla y León accelerates its digital transformation

Castilla y León reinforces training offers in new technologies within the CyL Digital c programWith the objective of accelerating the technological transformation of rural areas, ensure that digitalization reaches all corners of the community, and that both urban areas and small municipalities can advance with the same opportunities towards a increasingly digitalized environment.

For this, an offer of 253 training actions in-person sessions, of which 128 will take place in the Associated Centers in rural areas, consolidating a network that already reaches 338 locations throughout the territory.

This programming, which is completed with 125 courses in the CyL Digital Spaces of the provincial capitals and 16 online activities, reinforces the Board’s commitment to balanced and equitable access to digital training, regardless of place of residence.

The courses are designed to respond to the real needs of rural citizens, from the elderly or unemployed to the self-employed, professionals and small businesses. The offer includes basic training – such as the use of health applications or online banking – and more advanced content related to social networks, artificial intelligence or emerging digital tools, including the management of systems such as Chat GPT.

This month’s schedule is available on the website of the CyL Digital program, www.cyldigital.es.

In addition, the Board continues to promote the official accreditation of digital skills through the TuCertiCyL platformwhich this month calls for 23 certification tests between basic and intermediate levels. This accreditation represents a particularly relevant boost for those seeking to improve their employability or strengthen their professional projects in rural areas. The calls can be consulted on the website www.tucerticyl.es.

The CyL Digital Rural model

The commitment to rural areas is also materialized in the expansion of the CyL Digital Rural model, which has five fully equipped mobile classrooms to move around the municipalities of the nine provinces. These units allow the installation of temporary training spaces that bring technology closer to citizens who, due to distance or access limitations, would not be able to attend the usual centers.

This strategy is completed by ‘Demo Days’, express workshops in which participants can discover digital tools that facilitate daily management, improve communication or support entrepreneurial and professional activity, especially relevant in rural environments where digitalization represents an opportunity for the future. The December Demo Days are published on the website www.cyldigital.es/demo-days.

CyL Digital has established itself as a stable and growing network. Since its creation, it adds more than 141,000 in-person users and 78,000 online participantswith more than 22,000 face-to-face activities and 3,100 e-learning courses developed to date.

“We reaffirm our commitment to equal opportunities, territorial cohesion and the modernization of the rural environment, advancing a strategy focused on what really matters: managing, delivering results and expanding future possibilities for all citizens of Castilla y León, wherever they live,” says the Minister of Mobility and Digital Transformation, José Luis Sanz Merino.
