Conversations continue between United States and Iran to end the conflict in the Middle East hangs by a thread. Throughout yesterday, Washington’s version has been changing. Trump first assured that a delegation was on the way to Pakistan, then that movement was denied and, finally, the former president himself toughened his tone by warning that he will maintain the blockade of Iranian ports if there is no agreement.
Meanwhile, Tehran has raised the level of its criticism. From questioning the lack of coherence of the US Administration, he has gone on to denounce non-compliance with the cease-fire. For now, he has not decided whether he will go to Islamabad. Pakistan, in its role as mediator, insists that it hopes to have the Iranian presence. The current ceasefire ends at dawn on Wednesday, Spanish time.
