The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, defends today in Congress the measures of the Government’s royal decree law to alleviate the effects of the war in Iran. Rule that will be validated this Thursday after securing the favorable vote of Junts. It must be remembered that Sánchez asked to appear in the Lower House regarding the situation caused by the attack by the United States and Israel on Iran, an appearance that the Popular Party had also requested.
Last Friday, the Council of Ministers approved an anti-crisis plan in an extraordinary meeting, whose measures have already been in force since last Sunday. However, they still must be validated by Congress. A plan that includes an endowment of 5,000 million euros and tax reductions on electricity, gas and fuel (from 21% VAT to 10%); as well as discounts for vulnerable groups and direct aid for the most affected sectors.
The support of Junts will allow Sánchez to put pressure on the PP under the argument that he is not left alone with Vox rejecting the anti-crisis measures. But, beyond that request for support, the President of the Government will analyze the situation caused by the war in Iraninsisting that it considers the action of the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic outside international law.
