Users around the world are reporting the inability to access various internet services. Among the applications affected by the outage are X (formerly Twitter), ChatGPT and Canvas.
The fall prevents access to digital platforms and the updating of images or messages.
According to Downdetector, the problems began after 12:20 p.m., when Internet users were unable to access these services.
The failure affects the tools of the artificial intelligence company Open AIwhich includes ChatGPT, Sora, Dall-E, Data Analyst, Web Browser, Writing Coach and many others. Additionally, OpenAI offers the “OpenAI API”, which provides access to its language models, including GPT.
Apparently, the problems stem from the fall of Cloudflare, the content distribution network and one of the main providers of Internet infrastructure.
Cloudflare is one of the legs on which the Internet sits providing services such as CDN (which distributes content across servers around the world so that websites load faster from anywhere), DNS (translates domain names into IP addresses that computers understand) and protection against attacks, among others. Much of the Internet passes through its servers and services.
