The Board promotes digital competition among young people in rural areas

Castilla y León reaffirms its commitment to an education in values, with effort, teamwork and technology as protagonists.

The Board starts Cyl Digital Olympics, a free educational initiative aimed at children between 7 and 16, which combines the technological learning with physical activity and Group work will travel 18 locations in Castilla y León during the months of July and August 2025 in the digital spaces of the community.

During the days, participants will receive Practical training in digital design, creative programming, 3D printing and robotics in motionusing tools such as Canva, Scratch, Makey Makey and three -dimensional printing technology.

The sessions are structured in two consecutive mornings(10 hours in total)in which they will also be carried out Interactive Sports Games to apply the knowledge acquired.

This initiative is part of the Cyl program strategy Digital, whose objective is to promote digital competencies of citizens, paying special attention to childhood, young people and the rural population.

Programming seeks to promote computational thinking, Creativity, Motor Coordination and collaborative work in an accessible, playful and educational environment.

The Digital CyL spaces of the Junta de Castilla y León are centers of digital skills in the provincial capitals, where citizens are taught to citizens, support and technological advice is given and tests for certification of digital competences of citizens are carried out.

At present, there are more than 126,000 registered face -to -face users and more than 66,000 telephone users. Since its inception, more than 20,000 face -to -face activities and 2,900 online have been taught in the Cyl Digital program.

In rural areas there are already 322 centers associated with the Cyl Digital program, which are computer classrooms and telecentros managed by municipalities and associations, with which it is collaborated to provide training.
