Despite the extreme political and economic volatility that is hitting the markets in recent months, the EURIVOR He has returned in March to give another respite to the pocket of the mortgages. The most used indicator to calculate the interest rate of variable mortgages – the most abundant in the Spanish market – has closed March almost flat, but will significantly reduce the fees of those who have to review their mortgage loan. And it is also expected to continue doing it with the loans to be reviewed in the coming months.
The Euribor at twelve months closed March at 2,398%, well below the 3,718% that marked in the same month last year, which will reduce the mortgage quotas sensitively. And with a semiannual update, the monthly payments will be reduced from 786 to 743 euros, about 43 euros less per month and about 261 euros less to the semester.
The value of the Euribor in March is The smallest since September 2022 and has been subject to great volatility. González predicts that in the short term, the Euribor may continue to register “certain ups and downs”, at least until the European Central Bank (ECB) will clear on the 16th day the great unknown on interest rates.
More low in sight
In what almost all analysts agree that The indicator will continue to reduce mortgages in the coming months. However, from Ebury they do not rule out that Trump tariffs force the ECB to have to rethink its monetary policy, without even ruling out the possibility that it had to undertake a first reduction of interest rates this month of April.
